Escape Zone
2nd Floor – 388 Spadina Ave, Toronto, ON M5T 2G5

Escape Zone has a nicely decorated waiting area and reception. When we got there, there were some young people sitting around the back wall and couch chatting and playing a small collection of games provided by the facility. The walls were painted either in yellow or black, which were two colours that were consistently used in their theme throughout their decor and marketing materials.  There were also puzzle-related quotes from famous people on certain parts of the walls.

They had four rooms that range from Easy to Hardcore in difficulty, all of which are 45 minutes long. Their largest room can accomodate up to 6 players.  We booked two rooms back-to-back.  When we arrived, we were surprised to hear that they offer a special price of $10 for the second room.  However, we also noticed some coupons which offer other discounts on the desk, but they were not allowed to be used immediately.  If you plan to make a booking and take advantage of their coupons, you’ll need to drop by to pick them up, and use them when you actually visit to play. Make sure to bring cash because that’s the only acceptable method of payment there.

There were two staff when we were there that night, both were very friendly and helpful.  Their hint system is done with a beeper in the room which will alert the staff when help is needed, and they come inside the room to help. Both rooms that we visited had decent decor. Their designs and puzzles however, needed some improvement in our opinion.
