          Pros

          • - Decorations thorough and relevant
          • - Fair amount of puzzles for 45 min

          Cons

          • - Required the knowledge of a certain phrase

Unmask is the third room that we’ve played at Freeing, and true to their style, they did an excellent job with the décor. From the wall colour to the props, you can tell that everything was carefully chosen to fit the theme. Definitely no I-found-this-in-the-basement-let-me-throw-it-in-there props. All equipment was in good working condition.

When we played, Unmask was a 45-minute room, and we felt that the amount and difficulty level of the puzzles were suitable for this duration. There was one puzzle that required knowledge of a certain phrase. It’s a common phrase that most people are aware of, but not everyone will remember the exact wording. Not a huge deal, as you’ll eventually be able to work it out, but it will cost you a bit of time.

After playing, we chatted a bit with Ken (the owner), and he said they add may some puzzles to Unmask and convert it into a 1-hour room. This is welcome news to me, as I prefer playing 1-hour rooms. But for now, as 45-minute rooms go, this is one of my favourites and I recommend it for intermediate-level players.
