For a change I will write this review in English, for a few reasons: 1) I am overdue with many reviews, writing in English will definitely speed things up; 2) Since Errol did the review for the other room (Serial Killer Charade) in this facility, it will be easier for readers to compare the rooms if they’re written in the same language; 3) This room was too good, I’d like more people to know about it!

I was lucky enough to gather enough friends to visit Room Escape Ottawa with me while on a family trip to Ottawa.  This place was recommended to me by Errol, our guest reviewer, and Mike from EGR. It was a very interesting facility which also offers Archery Tag. We enjoyed watching people play while we sat and waited comfortably in their waiting area.  The night was fully booked and we had to be grouped with 4 other strangers for the game.  It seemed that the escape games in Ottawa are much busier than ones in Toronto because spaces were pretty much filled a week in advance.  The booking system was also such that you can fill in the spaces if the room hasn’t reached its full capacity; this option isn’t too popular in GTA games.

Boom Room was very nicely decorated throughout. It’s the best of any army-related theme that I’ve been to so far.  All the puzzles and props fit very nicely with the theme.  The puzzles were not difficult, but were creative enough to amaze even experienced gamers.  Tech was good and worked perfectly well.  I really loved the surprise elements, especially one that made some of us scream.  The use of space was very nicely thought out.  All in all, the experience was wonderful, and we did manage to get out at the last minute!

There wasn’t much that I would complain about the Boom Room, except for maybe one puzzle, which consisted of some pins that kept falling as we worked with it.  It is great for beginners or enthusiasts! I recommend a team of no more than 6 (though you really don’t have a choice), because I found that 8 people was a little crowded and some of us were less occupied than others.  If I were to visit Ottawa again, I will definitely do the Serial Killer Charade room!
