          Pros

          • - Excellent décor
          • - Just the right level of spookiness

          Cons

          • - Some puzzles did not fit theme

Despite all the good reviews that we’ve read, we put off playing Noriko until we could find a mutually convenient time slot during the day. Why? Because it seems that everyone is in agreement that this is a scary room. Actually, there are two floors of scariness – it was great! Escape Games definitely did a great job with the atmosphere for this game, and I’m sure anyone playing it will appreciate it, even if it does make you jump or scream.

For the most part, the puzzles were fun and engaging. In fact, there were two of them that were probably put in there more for the fun factor, because they didn’t really fit into the theme. Actually, one of these puzzles was more frustrating than fun since it required precise and quick execution, but I suppose everyone gets it after a few tries. Other than that, the puzzles were pretty straightforward and had a good variety.

Noriko is a room that can be enjoyed by players of all levels. Beginners will appreciate that the puzzles are not overly difficult, while advanced players will enjoy the variety and have more time to soak in the atmosphere. However, regardless of experience level, I wouldn’t bring more than 8 players. I suggest playing in a team of 6 if you don’t want people standing around doing nothing. Have fun and let us know if you scream!
