          Cons

          • - Last puzzle lacked clarity

Having thoroughly enjoyed Kingdom of Cats, Mysterious Study and Dark Altar, I was eagerly anticipating our return to Omescape to play the rest of their games. Unfortunately, this one fell short of my high expectations. Don’t get me wrong – this wasn’t a horrible game. However, it’s definitely not up to the standard that I have come to expect from Omescape.

For starters, the communication tool used in the game was not loud enough. This resulted in frustration from team members having to repeat themselves over and over. The final lock required entering a code into a keypad, which locked out after five attempts. This is fine, provided your answer is clear and doesn’t require guessing. Well, it wasn’t so clear and after a couple of unsuccessful attempts, we started to question which of the numbers was incorrect, even the ones that we were originally sure about.

Like I said at the start though, it wasn’t all bad. It has the potential to be a fun game overall, but not without some adjustments first. In terms of difficultly, I’d say this is more suitable for intermediate or advanced players. However, if you do go to Omescape, this wouldn’t be my first pick, regardless of difficulty level.
