          Pros

          • - Excellent decor
          • - Puzzles related back to theme

          Cons

          • - Final puzzle had mechanical issue
          • - Task-based puzzle was hard to execute

There seems to be no shortage of prison-related themes in Toronto, but I must say, Escape the Wild West is one of the most nicely decorated ones! As soon as you open your eyes, there is no question as to where you are – not only is the jail theme apparent, but the Western one as well. I loved it!

I also love when puzzles relate back to the theme, and that was definitely the case here. Another thing I loved was the variety of puzzles. Having more-tasked based puzzles than most other escape rooms, Escape the Wild West is a bit friendlier to those whose skill set does not include solving brain puzzles. Unfortunately, a couple of these task-based puzzles were a source of frustration for us. One of them was rather difficult to execute properly, and the final one simply did not work for us.

Escape the Wild West is a great, beginner-friendly room to play. It would be even better with minor adjustments made to some of the task-based puzzles. If you’re in the area, go give it a try!
